As Design Director

At FRED Communication by Design, my colleagues—Derick Belden, Blayne Ward, Marianne McGehee, and I work to create brand experiences that blend intuitive interaction with aesthetically evocative design. My -year experience in graphic design includes a broad range of business communications: Brand Identity, Typographic Systems, Interaction Design/UI, Content and Navigational Systems, Iconography, Motion Graphics and Print. Plus, I’m hands-on in the creation of HTML, CSS, Javascript and WordPress publishing environments.

I’m a Birmingham native who graduated from the Auburn University School of Industrial and Graphic Design then spent years working in the San Francisco and Atlanta design communities before returning home. My past agency experience includes companies such as Studio Archetype/Sapient, Resource/Ammirati, Lewis Communications, and Luckie & Company. I currently serve as Design Director at FRED. Past brand experience includes Baptist Health System, Coca-Cola, Bank of America, UPS, Adobe, ING Group, Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan, Smithfield Foods, Bayer Environmental Science, Little Debbie, GSK, Char-Broil, Alabama Tourism and Brasfield & Gorrie.
