These works explore spatial narrative—layerings of time, place, and perspective within single frames. Scenes mismatched in scale or origin are brought together, suggesting that memory, movement, and identity are never fixed. Each mural becomes a window into a moment; together, they form an abstract recollection: nonlinear, overlapping, and alive with tension. The aesthetic blends Art Deco with Constructivism—an early 20th-century avant-garde movement shaped by Cubism and Futurism. It embraced geometric abstraction and modern materials to express revolution, and to expose the systems behind the scenes: industry, labor, logistics, and a vision of a prosperous future. Birmingham was born in the Gilded Age, built at speed from iron, ambition, and contradiction. This work reflects that origin—the push and pull between human intention and industrial scale. This was a nine month effort — one rooted in storytelling, collaboration, and the energy of a city that’s always reinventing itself. Each mural taps into Birmingham’s unique spirit — its music, its makers, its grit and ambition.
